.
STORY OF GANESH CHATURTHI
Peshwa encouraged Ganesh chaturthi, it said that Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj's mother Jija bai organized Ganesh chaturthi for the first time and it held in Pune and the Pandal named 'Kasba'. But, when Britishers came to India and they start ruling on India they stop giving permission for this festival to celebrate in Public.

Later on, in Year 1893 Ganesh chaturthi started again and this time Lokmanya Tilak had big hand for starting it. Lokmanya Tilak started Ganesh Chaturthi to gather all the Indians so that they can gather and plan against British. On seeing Ganesh chaturthi took a big form in India.

When Tilak started this practice, Ganesh idols were kept in Temples after Ganesh chaturthi but this was opposed by Brahmins because they said that the idols are untouchable and it has been touched by untouchable now it is not worth entering temples because it is desecrated. At that time, because of the rise of the ruckus, it was decided that these idols will now be immersed in the ponds, rivers and sea.

Ganesh chaturthi and Ganesha ji helped Indians a lot in fighting against Brithish rule. Due to these gatherings maximum people joined this movement.
